Turkey Day Party

Lenny is a busy little party go-er. I took him to a Turkey Day party yesterday at the county parks and recreation center. They always do such a nice job at the rec center, I enjoy taking Lenny. He had a lot of fun this time. It was very rainy but we still went and we arrived at exactly 10 a.m. when the party was supposed to start. We were the first ones there and the staff were happy that they were still going to be able to have a party. Shortly after, more kids showed up and there were about ten kids there total.

They told stories, sang songs, made crafts, and played games.Lenny was supposed to be standing inside the hula hoop, not trying to play with it. He soon figured that out.

Lenny was always the first one in the circle for the stories and songs. This time we had to make five little turkeys to put on a stick for the song. He was done with the turkeys and in the circle ready to sing a song.

More fun games with prizes.

Thank you to Gloria for watching Brooke and Nathan for me so that Lenny could go by himself. I know they had fun with Nunny.

On Tuesday we had a pot luck Thanksgiving lunch to go to but we didn't make it there. Things were not working out for us that day. It started with my fall down the stairs. Yes, it finally happened. I've been wondering when that would happen when I was carrying one of the babies downstairs. It was at about 6:30 a.m., I was carrying Nathan down and Lenny was walking down beside me. My foot slipped and I went sliding down the stairs. I finally stopped half way down. Believe it or not, I hung on to Nathan and didn't wipe Lenny out on the way. I was thankful for that. My leg is sore and bruised but other than that, I'm ok.

Later that morning, I was getting ready to make my dish for the potluck and realized that we were out of eggs. I needed them but there was no way that I would have time to load up the kids, go to the store, buy the eggs, make the dish, and make it in time for the luncheon. So, at that point I decided that we were just going to stay home for the day.

I knew at 6:30 that morning that it probably wasn't going to be a good day. You know that saying, "when it rains, it pours".

We are getting ready for Brooke and Nathan's birthday party on Saturday and are looking forward to seeing the family. I probably won't post again until Monday.

Here's a picture of Lenny after he ate an airhead from his Halloween bucket. He loved that his tongue was blue. We are still working our way through the candy. I'll be glad when it is all gone.

Kelli - you sound like me falling down the steps. It's amazing though how you react and are able to keep the kids safe. That happened when I fell with Brendan while I was pregnant. I was more beat up than he was.

The party looked like tons of fun!

Oh no Kelli - I'm glad you're ok. I fell down once - not with my own child - but with my best friend's NEWBORN. I never even put my hand down to break my fall - I just took the fall HARD so I had both hands to protect her 1 month old son. Talk about scary! The pics are really cute - hope the bday party is a huge success. Can't wait to see the pics.
