Are Your Spices Old?

I was skimming through a magazine yesterday as the babies were napping and Lenny was eating lunch, and I found something interesting. There was an ad for McCormick spices. It said that if you have spices in a rectangular tin and it is not black pepper, then your spice is at least 15 years old. And if you have any spices that says "Baltimore, MD" on it, that too is at least 15 years old. I became very curious about my own spice cabinet.

Well, believe it or not I did have a rectangular tin of ginger and two other spices that say Baltimore, MD. Yikes!! You mean to tell me that I've had those for 15 years, at least. Thank goodness those are the only ones that I found. Luckily, I had another container of ginger that I've been using instead and the others haven't been used for a very long time as well. Hopefully at least 13 or 14 year. :-)

I think I'll hang on to the tin of ginger, it might be a collector's item in a few more years. What the heck, I've already had it for 15 years.

Goodbye to these!

Have a great weekend! Hopefully I'll post something on Monday.

From the Mouth of a Three Year Old

This story is a few weeks old and a few of you have heard it but I love it. One morning Lenny and I were talking about birthdays. I asked him whose birthday was next and he said "Brooke and Nathan". Then I said, "then I have a birthday and then you have a birthday". He said "Can you tell the baker that I want a Bob the Builder birthday?". I said yes, I will. Then he said "Are you going to have a 'news' birthday?" I had to laugh about that one. I like to watch the news in the morning when I get up so I guess he thinks that is my favorite and I should have that as my birthday. :-)

Let's Go Mountaineers!

Don't forget to cheer on the West Virginia Mountaineers as they play South Florida tonight at 8.

How's that for team spirit. Poor things are sick with a cold and they still have spirit. Too bad none of them will be up late enough to see the game. Hopefully. :-)

From the Mouth of a Three Year Old

Of course all of our kids are already WVU fans. Whenever you give Lenny a high five he says "West Vir.....ginia" and then laughs hysterically. His daddy is the one behind teaching him that.

My First Blog

Hi all! This is my very first post on my blog. Just a few months ago, I didn't even know what a blog was. :-) My friend Karen started one and I have been inspired to start my own. I'm hoping that this can be a great way to keep everyone up to date with pictures and stories of the kids. I hope you enjoy it. Please let me know what you think. I'm sure I won't have time to update it on a daily basis but I will try to update it as often as possible. Thanks for checking it out.

I've decided to include a section in each post called "From the Mouth of a Three Year Old". Lenny say's the cutest things everyday and I always wish I could remember them all. This will help me to do that.

The other day the kids and I enjoyed some time outside. It was so nice especially since they have all been sick with a cold. It was nice to get everyone outdoors and having fun. They had a great time on the swing.

Brooke loves her swing

So does Nathan

Lenny is learning to love the big boy swing.
He likes it most when he can swing with mommy.

From the Mouth of a Three Year Old

Today Lenny was choosing a Thomas book to read. He picked one up and looked at me and said "Mommy, this is a splendid book."
