I haven't posted any in a while so here are a few for you from each kid.
A Five Year
Gloria was on her way to visit one day. Lenny said, "Can I call Nunny?" I said, “She might be in the car on her way here.” Lenny then said, “I can call her when she is in the car. Maybe she is at a red light. Like on rock band." The he started singing. “You don’t have to put on the red light. Roxanne. You don’t have to put on the red light. Roxanne.”
One day I was explaining to Brooke that she can’t go outside without asking me first. She is always trying to sneak out. I told her that she could get hurt and I wouldn’t know it. Then I wouldn’t be able to help her. That is why she should never go outside unless she asks me first. Because I wouldn’t want her to get hurt. Lenny, said “Me too, because she’s my cutie pie.”
“Mommy, when I grow up and am big like daddy, will I go to work with him?” I said, “Maybe. If that’s what you want to do or you might go to work somewhere else.” Lenny then said, “I want to work with daddy. Then can I have lollipops all day long?” Dominic works at a bank and every time we go to visit him at work, people are always giving them lollipops.
I can never remember how the Phineas and Ferb theme song goes and I always try to sing it. Lenny is always correcting me. Anyway, I was singing it one day and I said, “cause Phineas and Ferb is going to do it all.” Lenny said, “No mommy, ARE going to do it all”. He then said, if it was just Phineas it would be “is”. My five year old is already correcting my grammar!
Lenny is definitely at the age where he asks lots of questions and wants to know everything. Not long after Dominic's Uncle Jerry passed away, Lenny started asking questions. He asked Dominic if he is going to die. Dominic said, "Yes, some day." Lenny was so worried after that. He kept coming to me crying and saying that he didn't want to die. So I knew the conversations were going to start. I reassured him that he didn't have to worry about that at all.
Later he came to me and said, "If we die, do we come back to life?" I said, "Well, some people think that we do and others think that we go to heaven. I think that we go to heaven." He kept asking me different things throughout the day. Then he came to me and said, "Mommy, Jesus died and came back to life. That's what I want to do too." We then had more of a conversation. He came back again and said, "Does God have toys?" "Does he have a computer? Because I would want to get on the computer." It was so cute to see him thinking of all of these things.
After we talked about all of it, Lenny then said to me. "Mommy, I'm not worried about heaven now because you told me all about it." He hasn't talked to me about it since and that has been a few months ago. I guess he feels good about it now.
From the Mouth of a Two Year Old Boy
Whenever Nathan talks to someone on the phone he says “Yo!!” or “Yo Gaggy!!” It's hilarious.
Nathan was talking to Dominic on the phone one day. I guess Dominic said, “See you later Bubba.” Nathan got off the phone and started laughing and said, “Gaggy call me Bubba.” More laughter. “Me Nate, Mommy.”
From the Mouth of a Two Year Old Girl
Brooke was going upstairs one day and Daisy was lying at the bottom of the stairs and she couldn’t get past her. Brooke looked at Daisy and said, “Excuse me, Daisy”. And it was as clear as can be when she said it. She has also said “Excuse me” to Dominic before when she has needed to get around him.
She was playing in the sandbox one day and our next door neighbor started his motorcycle. It scared Brooke. After she was done being scared, she was mad. Our neighbor didn’t even know Brooke was there but he revved the engine again. Brooke then yelled, “Ben! Stop it! Right now!” and then went back to playing in the sand. It was hilarious. If she would have been standing up, I'm sure she would have stomped at him too. Not only does she boss everyone in our house around, she's started on the neighbors. Just so you know, she really likes Ben so it was no biggy. He didn’t even hear what she said because the motorcycle was so loud.
Another motorcycle story. After mom and Ernie came to visit one day on his motorcycle, Brooke started singing a new song. For weeks she would sing it. It went like this. “Meemaw come, Onie bike.” Over and over again. Meemaw came to see her on Ernie’s bike.
Finally!

I'm so glad you calmed Lenny's fears about death. I think you explained it very well and I'm sure God has toys in heaven :) He's such a bright child full of funny things. I wish we could see & hear more of him. Still waiting for the post on Lenny's first day of school. I saw your picts on FB, but I know you'll be posting on blogger too.
